About Me:

Hello! My name is Ashley Shimberg and I am the founder/director of the Asheville Clogging Company. Founded in August 2003, we are WNC's largest award-winning clogging group! Clogging has a very special heritage- it originated right here in Western North Carolina! As an Asheville native and a clogger of 17 years, passing on this mountain tradition is near and dear to my heart! The Asheville Clogging Company is very family-oriented and many of our cloggers are mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, and we even have some grandparents and their grandchildren clogging with us! We offer family discounts and are conveniently located in South Asheville off Airport Road. Our cloggers have dozens of opportunities to perform each year, and you may have seen us at places such as Bele Cher, The WNC Nature Center, Johnson Farm, The Apple Festival and The Sourwood Festival! There will be clogging demostrations, clogging videos to watch, costumes to look at, mini clogging lessons, discounts, and much more! FREE and open to the public! All ages welcome!
