I am a little different because I had a set of triplets-three boys, two identical. We had no idea until I was 4 1/2 months pregnant-going to find out the sex of THE baby. Ha!Ha! Boy, boy, boy, we're we ever surprised. First the ultrasound tech said, "Well, you know you are having a set of twins."
"What?" Oh, wow! Twins, I thought-tears streaming down my face...okay-I've got 2 arms...I can do this.
"Identical twin boys!" But everything looked great...they were in the same sac and sharing the placenta, but everything looked okay. "Wait a minute, I think I see another one!"
This was not funny now-IS she joking!!? Then she turned the screen a little more and pointed out-"1, 2, 3 little babies" my daughter began to sing. Shock is not the proper word to describe the feelings Tony, Catherine, and I had-shock that lasted for many months to come. In fact, the boys are now 19 months old and Tony and I sometimes still wonder how and why??
I often wonder how and why, too! I have no twins in my family and I, too, was having my first ultrasound at 5 1/2 months and was wanting to know the sex of my baby. The ultrasound tech said she couldn't tell the sex because one was on top of the other. I looked around the room to make sure she wasn't talking to someone else! My girls are also identical and truly "shock" doesn't cover it!
